Chronic Back/Neck Pain after Motor Vehicle Accident Gone
During the years of very challenging chronic neck and back pain, and before coming to New Hope Medical Center, I had faithfully worked with over sixteen different healthcare providers. The true test of what New Hope Medical Center did in my life is that I returned to working six days a week. More importantly, my neck and back are keeping up! This is nothing like the life I have known for the past five years. It is the way I wanted to feel, but I forgot what it was like to feel this good!
My chronic pain resulted from an auto accident in 2002. Over the course of time, through trial and error, I grew tremendously in my faith and did not give up. Instead, I found many means of help, such as: daily prayer and devotional time, a whole foods diet, physical therapy, chiropractic, stretching exercises, acupuncture, supplements, cervical traction, sustained acupressure point-holding combined with nutritional saturation and emotional release, ice and heat therapy, special topical creams, five prescription drugs, counseling, journaling, and refraining from chores and physical exertion. Sounds like a lot doesn’t it? It was. However, I still endured daily pain and agonizing flare-ups, which peaked about every 7 to 10 days.
Eventually it became clear that I was going to be unable return to my former active lifestyle and career as a hairstylist for film. Any dreams I had of producing my husband’s music, doing acting and producing short films were dying. Our part-time Primerica business needed to become full-time. There were lots of people I wanted to help, but my health was too far gone to serve anyone well.
Two Orthopedic specialists, each independent of the other, advised me to undergo spinal surgery to remove discs and fuse vertebras. Something didn’t feel right about it. So, I interviewed several people who had the same surgery, as well as people who worked in the Orthopedics field. I decided not to undergo the surgery because it could possibly create a bigger lever arm on top of the remaining discs that were injured and degenerating. This, in turn, could lead to additional surgeries and drugs. Yet, what was I to do?
Finally an amazing thing happened after all those years of lost health. After a period of spiritual fasting and prayer, the Holy Spirit lead me to someone who told me about her friend, a pro ball player who used a medical device called, “VAX-D”, to relieve lower back pain without surgery. I later discovered that VAX-D had recently been approved and become available for treatment of pain in the neck and upper back. Talk about God’s timing! Degenerative Disc Disease Pain Gone
I would still be in pain and unable to enjoy a normal active lifestyle were it not for your treatment. I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and saw many doctors over the years. Back Surgery Avoided
My primary care doctor and the surgeon to whom she sent me both saw surgery as the only way to go. AS a physical therapist with 37 years of clinical practice, I have seen my share of failed back surgeries and opted to search out all possible alternatives. By the grace of God, I learned about VAX-D! My pain level was at a 10+ and I was taking maximum doses of prescription strength pain medication. I virtually crawled into the VAX-D clinic, hoping for minimal relief. I drove a 75-mile round trip daily for 6 weeks in order to receive the treatments.

Pain Gone…Life Back Again
I would still be in pain if it weren’t for VAX-D. Due to a horrible fall, my level of back pain was so tremendous that at times I was unable to stand up or get out of bed. Disc Herniation Pain Healed
I was felling discouraged that after nine treatment sessions, I could feel no real decrease in pain from my herniated disc. Sciatica Pain Relieved

Back Pain Surgery Avoided
I was in a wheelchair only a few weeks ago. I’ve lived with back pain for the last thirty years, and each year it seemed to get worse. Foot Numbness Eliminated
I remember that before VAX-D, there was pain. It was so intense that whenever I sat down, it would radiate to my right leg as well as my knee. My feet would quickly become numb. I tried to avoid anything that involved sitting and could not sleep at night because of the pain I felt. After four or five VAX-D treatments, the numbness in my feet was gone. I noticed relief of pain after nine or ten treatments and by the twentieth, I felt so good that I honestly thought I didn’t need any more. The physician recommended that I do five additional sessions, and I have to say, that was the best advice that I had received in a long time. Surgical Laminectomy Avoided
The neurosurgeon was not optimistic. After two back surgeries (laminectomies), an MRI indicated that t third surgery would be problematic. The surgeon said he would do the surgery, but, with its risk and poor prognosis, he suggested I consider the possibility of just living with the pain of a double herniated L4-L5 disc. It was impossible to sit for more than ten minutes and it because increasingly difficult to stand, walk, or at times even lie down. It was at that point that I considered flying for the VAX-D treatment. I would receive, I was told, two treatments a day for nine consecutive days. Frankly, even after watching the video tape provided by the clinic, I was dubious.
As it turned out the only “ordeal” of the whole time was the plaint trip. I had my first treatment the afternoon I arrived. After four treatments the pain was substantially reduced. By the end of the 18 treatments the pain was completely gone for several days. When it returned it would be a bare whisper of its former intensity. I was told I would continue to improve after treatment. Again, I was dubious, but I was so relieved to be 95% functional that I really didn’t care. AS I write this, some ten weeks after my last treatment, I have marked four weeks free of pain. VAX-D Succeeds after Surgery and Epidural Fail—No Fusion Needed
I had a recurrence of back and leg pain after undergoing a surgical laminectomy. An MRI indicated that a bulging disc might be the cause of the problem. I was told that unless I underwent a serious program of weight loss and exercise, fusion surgery was my next surgical option. After losing over 30 lbs., I thought I was home free, but some time in August I felt something shift in my back and within 24 hours was barely able to walk. An epidural injection brought no relief. Physician Pain-Free with VAX-D after everything else Failed
I developed low back pain about four years prior to using the VAX-D. Most likely, the pain resulted from lifting heavy weights. I had just completed the Body for Life program and was maintaining an exercise regimen with static contractions where I was holding 500 lbs. on bench press and 2000 lbs. with my legs. A few months later, I experienced some pain in my lower back. At first, I thought it was from rotoscoliosis, which I developed in my thoracic and lumbar spine from a growth spurt during my teenage years. However, stretching exercises were not enough to control the pain. I also used prolotherapy injections and Hakomed electromagnetic stimulation, both of which helped to reduce the pain and shift its location to the sacroiliac area.
